LEarning and action alliancEs for NexuS EnvironmentS in an uncertain future (LENSES)
LENSES is a PRIMA-funded Innovation Action aiming to operationalise the Water-Ecosystem-Food (WEF) Nexus approach across the Mediterranean. Through Learning and Action Alliances (LAAs), the project develops resilient Nexus management strategies that improve water allocation, enhance food security, preserve ecosystems, and strengthen climate change adaptation by fostering inclusive stakeholder participation and collective learning.

LENSES moves beyond the conceptual understanding of the WEF Nexus towards its operational implementation. The project develops innovative methodologies including Participatory System Dynamics Models (PSDMs), scenario analysis, Nature-based Solutions (NbS), ecosystem service assessments, and a Nexus-SDG toolkit. These approaches are demonstrated across Mediterranean pilot areas through collaborative learning processes involving stakeholders from multiple sectors to develop adaptive and resilient resource management strategies under uncertainty.
